Overview
FIU Online’s Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Management is a comprehensive program offered in a unique and convenient online learning format. Students learn the foundations of organizational management, with topics such as the legal environment of business, introduction to information systems, operations management, business and professional communication, strategic management, applied macroeconomics, marketing management, financial management and applications of quantitative method.

The BBA – Management track is fully online and offers a solid foundation in the areas of finance, statistics, accounting, marketing, and management. Graduates may specialize in areas such as accounting, finance, management, marketing, and statistics or pursue a career in any business-related field.

Industry Statistics
Graduates with a concentration in management are well prepared to pursue a career as a management analyst, and demand for qualified professionals in this area is expected to grow as organizations seek ways to improve efficiency and control costs. In 2019, the median annual wage of management analysts was $85,260 with the greatest job outlook in California, New York, Florida, Virginia and Texas (Occupational Handbook, Bureau of Labor Statistics).
Administrative service managers and facilities managers will also be in high demand as organizations increasingly realize the importance of operating their facilities efficiently. In 2019, the median annual wage of administrative services managers was $96,940 and the field is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations to 2029 (Occupational Handbook, Bureau of Labor Statistics). -

Courses
A total of 120 credit hours are required for the Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. Students must complete 60 credit hours of lower division course work (including the business pre-core courses) and 60 credit hours of upper division course work divided between business core courses and a combination of major courses and electives.
Pre-Core Courses
To become eligible for admission into the College of Business, you must complete all business pre-core, Common Prerequisite Course, requirements with (a) an overall GPA of 2.50, and (b) a GPA of 2.50 for the set of seven Common Prerequisite Courses.
A grade of "C" or higher is required in all business pre-core courses. Please refer to the FIU Undergraduate Catalog for a complete listing of core curriculum and general education requirements.

Management majors may take any 3000 level or higher course preferably inside the College of Business to satisfy their Upper Division Business Elective requirement. All upper division electives outside the College of Business must demonstrate a relationship to business and receive the approval of the Global Leadership and Management Department Chair. -

- If you have less than 60 transferable college credits, you must also submit official high school transcripts and SAT, ACT and/or CLT scores in addition to any transcripts from postsecondary schools to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Once formally admitted and your transcripts evaluated, you may be requested to provide prior course syllabi. This is to ensure maximum transferability of FIU course requirements. Review University Resources for "New Student" guidance.
Returning Students

Program Admission Requirements
Candidates must first be accepted into the university. Students admitted to Florida International University are admitted directly to their chosen major.
Program Completion Requirements
A total of 120 credits are required to complete the fully online undergraduate degree. Students must complete the University Core Curriculum, University requirements and Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs requirements while satisfying requirements toward their Spanish major and are expected to make good progress based on critical indicators, such as GPA in specific courses or credits earned. In cases where students are not making good progress, a change of major may be required. The Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs advisors work to redirect students to more appropriate majors when critical indicators are not met. Carolina Gómez
Prior to joining FIU, Carolina Gómez served as assistant professor at Towson University’s College of Business and Economics and at the University of Houston College of Business Administration. In the private sector, Dr. Gómez worked with Nortel in marketing and strategic planning. Her areas of expertise include empowerment, international entrepreneurship and cross-cultural issues.
