FIU Online Instructors wishing to enhance an existing fully online course to meet the Quality Matters standards or significantly update their course design can opt into a one-to-one instructional design consultation by completing the form below. Note: Instructors with expired QM- or HQ-certified courses can also opt-in to have their courses re-evaluated and re-certified to meet the standards of the QM rubric.
Opt-In Requirements
This consultation commits you to a full development cycle. The typical cycle is 12 to 16 weeks of development prior to the start of the semester, concluding once the semester ends.
In order to ensure a successful development cycle and establish a collaborative partnership with your instructional designer, three consultation meetings are required at a minimum. Courses engaging in this enhancement process must be submitted for evaluation to ultimately meet the Quality Matters standards by the end of the opt-in semester.
Please check with your academic units for certification requirements and/or preferences prior to submitting your request.
