Making a goal.

One day, while scrolling through Facebook, Karine came across an advertisement for the FIU Online Pharmacy Technician Certification Training Program. Her interest was piqued. The program was just one year long and the online platform seemed like a good way to try something new.

More importantly, Karine could already picture herself as a pharmacy technician. “After having struggled with school for so long,” Karine said, “I finally felt like I had a goal.”

As soon as Karine enrolled in the program, she was reaping rewards. “Though the classes were challenging, I had enough support to get through them,” she said, adding that she valued having professors capable of sharing practical insights about the industry.

One advantage Karine found indispensable to her success was the program’s flexibility with regard to time. She could log on to her online program on her time and had peace of mind knowing that she had access 24/7. “Other schools have deadlines that are too strict for real life,” she said. “The FIU Online program gave me the resources I needed to work at my own pace.”

Prepared for Work

Though Karine was able to complete the program in eight months, sooner than the mandatory one year, her academic experience was no less rigorous. “I finished the program well-equipped for my career as a pharmacy technician.”

Beyond acquiring the essential skills, Karine also made connections in the program––classmates and professors who to this day go to bat for Karine as she hunts for a job. “I still keep in contact with many people I met through the program. They even helped me write the perfect résumé.”

Knocking on Doors

Today, while living in Plantation, FL, Karine sorts through the countless job leads her refined résumé, specialized skills, and network of contacts from the Pharmacy Technician Online Certification Training Program have brought her. She’s confident she’ll land the perfect start to her career.

“I would still be struggling with school and my career prospects were it not for the pharmacy technician program” she said. “I want people to know that this program showed me what I wanted to do with my life. If you are struggling with school or your current job but don’t think you can take the time you need for a change, don’t give up. Try FIU Online first.”
