We’re creating more opportunities for freshmen like you every term. Follow the checklist below to apply and If you need help, contact an enrollment and recruitment coordinator. FIU offers rolling admission during the summer, fall and spring terms. Ready to Apply? Follow these steps:

Step 1: Make sure you have taken the SAT or ACT

Students should take the SAT and/or ACT no later than fall of their high school senior year. Test scores should be submitted as early as possible to be considered for the upcoming term. Official scores for the SAT can be sent through CollegeBoard.org (code: 5206) and ACT scores through ACT.org (code: 0776).

Step 2: Start your Application

The online application takes about 20-30 minutes to complete and will require a $30 application fee.

Step 3: Apply for Financial Aid

Filing for FAFSA before the deadline will make it easier to calculate and deliver your financial aid awards. Enter Code 009635 for FIU. You should file for FAFSA even if you aren’t sure you’ll qualify. Search for scholarships you could qualify for early as deadlines to apply may vary.

Step 4: Submit Transcript(s)

This includes transcripts from your high school and from any other university or college you received dual enrollment credits from.If you were homeschooled, you must present your home education program’s equivalent of a high school diploma or transcript. If you earned your GED, you must present official GED results and official transcripts or any partial high school completion.

Step 5: Submit Residency Documentation

Residency status is used primarily to determine whether students pay in-state or out-of-state tuition. Whether you are a Florida resident, U.S. resident or international student, you are required to submit proof of residency

Step 6: Check Application Status

Starting an application creates your MyFIU account. To check your application status you will need your FIU Panther ID to log into your account. Please allow 2-3 business days to view your application status. Remember your login and check the dashboard for updates.
