FIU garners highest amount of No. 1 rankings for online learning

With more than 24 years of online learning excellence, FIU, Miami’s first and only public research university, added more No. 1 rankings for many of its online programs than it has ever garnered in the past.

The 2022 rankings, from a range of ranking bodies, placed 20 of FIU’s online degree programs first in the nation—a testament to the university’s enduring commitment to quality online learning.

Top rankings run the gamut from computer science to hospitality, English degrees to public relations, business programs to engineering, IT to music education, to name a few. Many of the No. 1 rankings achieved for FIU’s online programs are recognitions received for the first time.

Of note, FIU remains the No. 1 university in the nation for Quality Matters certified online courses. FIU Online currently features more than 650 QM-certified courses. For QM certification, courses undergo a rigorous faculty-centered, peer-reviewed process designed to assess, improve and certify online courses. The process leverages best-practices and considers benchmarking rubrics to ensure course delivery, subject matter and pedagogy meet and exceed standards for online learning. 

The university’s QM efforts and certifications coupled with the university’s numerous No. 1 recognitions underscore FIU’s commitment to providing excellence in online learning.
