Distance Learning Fee: Florida Statute 1009.24(17)(b) allows the university to charge a Distance Learning Fee for all online courses that generate fundable student credit hours. The fee is charged per credit, and is subject to change depending on the amount of credits taken. One Card: This is an annual fee ($10), not related to your per-credit fee, therefore, it is included in the total tuition, but not listed above.
- An athletic fee will be collected each term along with the tuition. The Athletic Fee gives students access to the gymnasium and FIU athletic events. This fee was endorsed by the 1994-1995 Student Fee Committee to upgrade the University’s intercollegiate athletic program to NCAA Division I competition for both men and women. - FIU waives the Transportation Access Fee for students enrolled in fully online programs.
- Starting Fall 2021, the Panther Book Pack was launched as an affordable course materials rental program providing all undergraduate students with their required course materials by the first day of class at a fixed rate of $20 per credit hour. Students are estimated to save as much as $375 on course materials per semester with the Panther Book Pack program. Students are automatically enrolled in the program upon registering for classes, those who do not wish to participate have the ability to opt-out easily on their myFIU portal.
