Eligibility

Are you an eligible high school student that wants a head start on obtaining your college degree?

FIU’s fully online Dual Enrollment programs are taught by the same world-class FIU faculty, in the comfort of your own home. No matter where you are located, you can benefit from FIU’s Dual Enrollment courses.

All students interested in participating in FIU’s dual enrollment program must meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a course of study which will fulfill requirements for high school graduation
  • Have a 3.0 unweighted high school GPA
  • Meet minimum standardized college placement and/or college readiness score according to the Florida Department of Education’s Common Placement Testing
  • Satisfy any course prerequisites

Steps to apply

Follow the easy steps below to begin your enrollment process today!

Apply online.

If you have never participated in FIU’s Dual Enrollment program, complete the online application here. Make sure to select "Dual Enrollment - High School" as the academic plan in the "Applicant Interest" section of the application page

If you have participated in FIU's Dual Enrollment program, either on-campus, online, or at your highschool, proceed to Step 2

Print your test scores.

Print out your math, reading, and writing test scores (SAT, ACT, or PERT). College ready cut off scores can be viewed on the Florida Department of Education website.

Fill out your registration form.

Proceed to fill out the FIU Dual Enrollment Online Registration Form:

Review & submit your application package.

Review all documents to ensure your application package is complete and submit to the Dual Enrollment coordinator/counselor at your High School.

Get to know important dates.

  • September 4, 2018 - Online application closes
  • September 17, 2018 - Fall classes begin
  • October 9, 2018 – Last day to Drop
  • January 17, 2019 – Fall classes end
