Eligibility

Are you an eligible high school student that wants a head start on obtaining your college degree?

FIU’s fully online Dual Enrollment programs are taught by the same world-class FIU faculty, in the comfort of your own home. No matter where you are located, you can benefit from FIU’s Dual Enrollment courses.

All students interested in participating in FIU’s dual enrollment program must meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a course of study which will fulfill requirements for high school graduation
  • Have a 3.0 unweighted high school GPA
  • Meet minimum standardized college placement and/or college readiness score according to the Florida Department of Education’s Common Placement Testing
  • Satisfy any course prerequisites

Steps to apply

Follow the easy steps below to begin your enrollment process today!

Fill out an application.

If you have never participated in FIU’s Dual Enrollment program, go to FIU’s Non-Degree Seeking Application and complete the online application. This application should only be completed if you are a new dual enrollment applicant or if you have been out of the university for over three (3) consecutive semesters. Once the you submit the application, you will be given a Panther ID.

If you have participated in FIU’s Dual Enrollment program, either on-campus or at your high school, proceed to step 2.

Select your courses.

Download and complete the FIU Dual Enrollment Online Course Selection/Registration Form. Be sure to include your Panther ID number.

Print out your test scores.

Print out your math, reading, and writing test scores (SAT, ACT, or PERT). Required scores for college ready students can be viewed at the Florida Department of Education’s Common Placement Testing page.

Obtain your parent’s consent.

If you are under the age of 18, have your parent complete the Parent Consent Form for Online Dual Enrollment. Without this form, your application for the FIU Dual Enrollment program cannot be reviewed.

Complete FIU’s immunization forms.

Complete the top section of page 5 of the FIU Immunization Documentation Form and request a copy of your immunization records from your high school or take the form to your doctor to be completed and signed. Delays in submitting this documentation will result in delays for course registration.

Review & submit your application package.

Review all your documents to ensure that your application package is complete. Once completed, submit all paperwork to your Dual Enrollment Coordinator/Counselor at your High School. Failure to meet any registration requirements will delay the registration process. Your application package is required to include the following:

  • FIU Dual Enrollment Application (only for new applicants)
  • FIU Dual Enrollment Online Course Selection/Registration Form
  • Test Scores Print Out
  • Parent Consent Form
  • FIU Immunization Documentation Form

May 26, 2017. Dual Enrollment Application Deadline. All documentation needs to be submitted to your Dual Enrollment Coordinator/Counselor.
June 19, 2017. Classes Begin for Summer B Term.
June 26, 2017. Last Day to drop course(s) without a DR (drop) on transcript.
July 28, 2017. Classes End for Summer B Term.
